Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has started delivering Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Hilux cars in India again.
Earlier, they had stopped delivering them because of some problems with their diesel engines. But now, they say the engines meet all the rules in India.
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) found some issues during testing on January 29, 2024, so they stopped selling diesel cars for a while.
The company said they’re now following all the rules for delivering diesel engines. They had paused delivering Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Hilux before.
Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), a part of Toyota Motor Corporation, formed a team to check if there were any problems with certifying the diesel engines.
Toyota’s diesel engines come in different sizes: 2.4-litre, 2.8-litre, and 3.3-litre V6. The Innova Crysta has a 2.4-litre engine, while the Fortuner and Hilux have a 2.8-litre engine.
The Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX 500d use a 3.3-litre V6 engine.
Dealers say the waiting time for these cars is still about the same, a few weeks, depending on the model.
