To show respect and help women become more independent, the Central Government introduces different plans from time to time.
There are many plans like Mudra and Mahila Samriddhi Yojana that are operating.
These plans are made especially for women, and they are helping women become more financially independent.
Thanks to these plans, the number of women doing business in the country is growing quickly.
It’s expected that the number of women entrepreneurs might go up by 90 percent in the next 5 years.
The Government of India’s plans are addressing all the challenges faced by women. Let’s have a look at these plans.
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
The goal of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, led by the Narendra Modi government, is to help more women start their businesses and give them easy financial assistance.
This program provides loans to women for small industries. In this program, women can get loans up to Rs 10 lakh without needing to give anything valuable as security.
The government also charges less interest on this loan. People have a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years to pay back the loan.
Stand Up India Scheme
In April 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Stand Up India Scheme.
This plan encourages business among women from SC and ST communities through banks (Scheduled Commercial Banks).
It offers loans from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore. To get this help, women need to own at least 51 percent of the company.
Women’s Choir Scheme
The Mahila Coir Yojana encourages women to develop their skills. It offers a two-month training program for women involved in the coconut industry.
During this time, women receive a monthly allowance. Additionally, they can get a loan for up to 75 percent of the cost of coconut processing machines.
The government also requires the purchase of products made by women.
Economic Empowerment of Women Enterprises
The Ministry of Skill Development has started this plan for women. It focuses on helping women in states like Assam, Rajasthan, and Telangana improve their skills.
Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
In this plan, women can get loans up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Additionally, they can also receive a discount on the interest.
Women from backward classes or those with an annual income less than Rs 3 lakh can benefit from this scheme.
Trade Scheme
The TRADE (Trade-Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development) scheme helps women become economically stronger.
The Indian government pays for 30 percent of the whole project cost, and the remaining 70 percent is offered as a loan.
