Tata Power, in collaboration with the Coimbatore municipal corporation, announced plans to set up 20 public electric vehicle charging stations in the textile city.
As part of its expansion plans, Tata Power aims to increase the number of public EV charging stations in Tamil Nadu to 116 with the installation of 20 new chargers in Coimbatore.
These four-wheeler charging stations will offer 24×7 charging and maintenance support to EV owners in Coimbatore and nearby areas.
Tata Power’s head of business development for EV charging, Virendra Goyal, expressed his delight in partnering with the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, the second largest corporation in Tamil Nadu.
He stated in a statement that the collaboration aims to provide efficient EV charging solutions to all electric vehicle users in Coimbatore and its surrounding areas.
Virendra Goyal, head of business development for EV charging at Tata Power, emphasized the company’s commitment to making EV adoption in India more accessible and feasible through partnerships with municipal bodies like the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation.
He stated, “We strive to make EV charging stations easily accessible to users through such associations.”
The EV charging stations will be accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application, which includes features such as locating charging stations, remote vehicle charging monitoring, and e-payments.
The Commissioner of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, M Prathap, stated that their aim is to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the state, and the collaboration with Tata Power will provide a seamless charging experience to EV users in Coimbatore.
