Tata Motors is offering special discounts at the end of the year in December. They want to sell the remaining stock of their 2023 car models.
The company is giving big discounts on seven different models: Tata Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Nexon, Harrier, Safari, and the popular small SUV Punch.
If you buy one of these cars this month, you can save up to Rs 1.40 lakh. Let’s quickly go through all the offers.
Starting with the year-end offer, Tata is providing an Rs 80,000 discount on Tata Tiago and Tigor.
Altroz comes with a discount of Rs 45,000, and the Nexon SUV, the company’s best-seller, has a discount of up to Rs 70,000.
Tata Harrier’s pre-facelift model has a discount of up to Rs 1.35 lakh, while the pre-facelift model of Tata Safari gets the maximum discount of Rs 1.40 lakh. The popular SUV Punch is discounted by Rs 3,000.
Now, let’s talk about the upcoming Tata Punch EV. It’s currently the top micro SUV, and the electric version was expected to launch this year, but now it’s scheduled for early 2024.
The electric Punch might feature a 7-inch touchscreen, an electric sunroof, and a two-spoke steering wheel, similar to the regular Punch.
The design includes a central console with a rotary drive selector instead of a traditional gear lever. Testing photos suggest it might have a 360-degree camera.
Tata could use Ziptron powertrain technology in the Punch EV, including a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a liquid-cooled battery transmitting power to the front wheels.
Although details about battery capacity and motor specifications aren’t available yet, reports suggest it might use the same powertrain as the Tiago EV.
This includes a 19.2kWh battery pack with a 74bhp electric motor or a 24kWh battery pack with a 61bhp electric motor, providing a range of approximately 300 km.
When Punch EV is launched, it will compete with models like MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3 in the Indian market, along with Hyundai’s electric model of Exeter. This will create competition among them.
