Swiggy Raises Platform Fee for Food Orders, Charges Now Rs 3

Swiggy, the popular online food delivery platform, has increased its platform fee for food orders from Rs 2 to Rs 3.

According to a spokesperson from Swiggy, this change is a standard industry practice and now applies in most cities where the service is available.

Please note that this fee only pertains to food delivery services, not Instamart orders.

Similar to Zomato

In a similar move earlier this year, Swiggy’s competitor, Zomato, also raised its platform fee from Rs 2 to Rs 3 per order. Initially exempt from these charges, Zomato Gold users are now included.

Supporting Restaurants

Apart from these changes, Swiggy has been supporting restaurant owners through a unique capital assistance program.

Since its launch in 2017, the program has facilitated the disbursement of over Rs 450 crore in loans to more than 8,000 restaurant owners. In 2022 alone, 3,000 restaurants are expected to benefit from this initiative, helping bridge the financing gap for restaurant owners.
