Suzuki to launch it’s first Electric Scooter in India by 2025: See Details

Though of late, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki has also accepted that ‘Electric’ has a future.

Suzuki has recently shared its global strategy and product plan, in which it has been said to introduce electric vehicles.

According to media reports, the company will present its first electric scooter in the global market by 2024, while the first electric vehicle in the Indian market will be seen by FY 25.

Although Suzuki has been testing its Burgman electric scooter for a long time and on many different occasions, this scooter has also been spotted during testing.

But experts believe that Suzuki Access Electric will be introduced as the company’s first electric vehicle.

This scooter is trendy among budget buyers in many other markets, including the Indian market.

Until now, Suzuki has not shared any technical information about this upcoming electric scooter, but it is expected that it will be presented with a better range as a rival to the models in the market.

The company’s Suzuki Access is the best-selling scooter in the Indian market, and the brand is expected to introduce the same in its electric avatar in the market here.

What is the plan for India:

A global press release from Suzuki states that its first electric two-wheeler product for India will be “equivalent to a small to a mid-sized motorcycle that will be used for daily transportation such as daily commute, school or shopping, etc.”

” Although the word motorcycle has been used in the release, we expect it to be due to linguistic translation, as the first product will be an electric scooter.

Even before this, there have been discussions in the media reports about introducing Suzuki’s electric scooter.

As such, many small and big companies are manufacturing and selling electric scooters in the Indian market. But most of the expectations are from veteran players only.

Recently Hero MotoCorp launched the first electric scooter under its Vida brand. A few days ago, Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda also talked about introducing its Activa Electric model to the Indian market.

Now Suzuki is also entering this race, and the brand is a prominent name in the two-wheeler industry, so it is expected that the company will enter the electric space with a scooter with an affordable and better driving range.
