Bihar has recently taken significant steps to tighten traffic regulations and ensure the safety of its citizens on the roads. Despite continuous efforts to enforce traffic rules, instances of rule-breaking continue to surface.
To address this issue, the state has implemented stricter measures to control violators.
According to media reports, drivers who violate traffic rules are now required to promptly settle their fines. It is crucial for offenders to deposit the challan, or fine payment, within 90 days of receiving the violation notice.
The Transport Department has issued an order stating that failure to pay the challan within the stipulated 90-day period will result in the blacklisting of the offender’s vehicle.
To enhance traffic monitoring capabilities, the authorities have installed 30 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras in Patna. These cameras play a crucial role in issuing challans to violators.
Furthermore, efforts are underway to install additional cameras in various locations, including Bhootnath Road, Gaighat, Pahadi, Chirayatand Petrol Pump, and RN Singh Mod.
By implementing stricter traffic regulations and bolstering surveillance measures, Bihar aims to create a safer road environment for its residents and minimize traffic violations.
