Strengthened Security Measures Introduced for NPS Account Logins

The way you log in to your NPS (National Pension System) account is getting stricter.

Now, when you log in to the CRA system of NPS, you must use Aadhaar for verification. These new safety measures will start on April 1, 2024.

More Safety for NPS

The organization in charge of pensions, called PFRDA, is adding extra safety measures to the National Pension System.

They now require Aadhaar for verifying NPS accounts. To log in to the CRA system, you’ll need to go through a two-step verification process. PFRDA has also sent out a notice about this.

Using Aadhaar for Verification

The PFRDA notice says that they’re adding more security by using Aadhaar for logging in to the CRA system.

This change will start on April 1, 2024. PFRDA believes that using Aadhaar will make the login process stronger and safer.

This step aims to make NPS activities in government offices and autonomous bodies safer.

Making the NPS Safer

According to the notice, Aadhaar verification will be added to the current user ID and password login system.

This means you’ll need two steps to log in to the NPS CRA system. Right now, people access the system using just a password. PFRDA says this change will make the NPS environment safer.

They’ve also asked all central record-keeping agencies to issue guidelines for this. Remember, PFRDA manages the National Pension System.
