Stock Market Transaction Charges Change from November 1

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) recently altered transaction charges for S&P BSE Sensex options, effective from November 1. This change affects immediate expiry contracts and traders.

What’s Changed?

The transaction charge for BSE Sensex options now stands at:

1) Rs 500 per crore for turnovers up to Rs 3 crore.

2) Rs 3,750 per crore for turnovers exceeding Rs 3 crore but not exceeding Rs 100 crore.

3) Rs 3,500 per crore for turnovers ranging from Rs 100 crore to Rs 750 crore.

4) Rs 3,000 per crore for turnovers between Rs 750 crore and Rs 1,500 crore.

5) Rs 2,500 per crore for turnovers from Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore.

6) Rs 2,000 per crore for turnovers exceeding Rs 2,000 crore.

7) This transaction charge structure is based on incremental billable monthly turnover (premium value). The BSE had previously announced this change in October.

Notably, this alteration exclusively applies to S&P BSE Sensex options, and no other equity derivative contracts are affected.
