Sri Lanka approves Visa-Free Entry for India and Six other Countries

Now is a great time to plan a trip to Sri Lanka. It’s the best time because the weather is lovely, and the good news is that Indian passport holders can now visit Sri Lanka without needing a visa.

The Sri Lankan Ministry of Tourism recently announced that people from seven countries, including India, can enter Sri Lanka without a visa.

These countries are India, China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand.

This new rule is a test project and will be in place until March 31, 2024.

This new rule makes traveling to Sri Lanka very easy. Before, if you were Indian and wanted to go to Sri Lanka, you needed to have something called an “Electronic Travel Authorization” or ETA.

You had to show this document when you arrived. This document allowed you to stay in Sri Lanka for 30 days, and it cost INR 2080.

With visa-free travel to Sri Lanka, you don’t have to plan your trip ahead of time, and you don’t need any special documents either.

What makes Sri Lanka so appealing to Indians? It’s the strong cultural and historical ties between India and Sri Lanka, which include both mythology and real historical sites.

Besides the cultural and historical connections, Sri Lanka is also a beautiful country with everything from gorgeous beaches to mountains and valleys.

It’s a fantastic place for adventure seekers, not just from India but from all around the world.

Right now, Indians can visit over 20 countries without a visa, including Sri Lanka, Barbados, Bhutan, Dominica, El Salvador, Gabon, Gambia, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Macao, Mauritius, Micronesia, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Seychelles, St.

Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and Vanuatu.
