Skoda has launched a new special edition of its mid-size SUV, the Skoda Kushaq, in India.
Known as the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition, this model falls between the Active and Ambition Classic trims and comes with a starting price of Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom), which is approximately Rs 80,000 higher than the base Active trim.
The new edition of the SUV features the brand’s signature front grille with a chrome surround and a faux diffuser element.
Additionally, it boasts 16-inch steel wheels with a unique design, bold body graphics on the doors, and an ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-pillars.
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition also comes equipped with LED projector headlamps, fog lamps, wheel covers, roof rails, rear washer and wiper, and rear defogger.
On the inside, the vehicle features Onyx design perforated leatherette seats with fabric inserts and Onyx inscribed front scuff plates.
It also includes a climatronic auto AC with control touch pane and air care function.
In addition, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition comes equipped with a variety of features, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an automatic climate control system, steering mounted controls,
rear AC vents, electronic differential lock system, Isofix child seat mounts, brake disc wiping, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and remote locking system.
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition comes equipped with a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox.
This engine can generate a claimed power of 115bhp and 175Nm of torque, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 11.47 seconds in manual form and 13.16 seconds in automatic form.
The SUV model lineup offers an alternative engine option, which is a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder TSI petrol unit, that can generate a power output of 150bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The entry-level Active trim is equipped with a 1.0-liter TSI engine, whereas the top-end Style trim offers both engine options.
All models in the lineup come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Additionally, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DSG transmission are available as options for both the 1.0-liter TSI and 1.5-liter TSI variants.
