Simple Energy, an emerging player in the electric vehicle industry, is all set to launch its inaugural electric scooter tomorrow, May 23rd. The company has commenced production of its highly anticipated e-scooter, with the first unit rolling off the assembly line.
Simple Energy aims to kickstart deliveries alongside the grand launch, marking a significant milestone for the company.
The launch of the Simple One e-scooter was previously delayed due to stringent battery safety regulations.
However, after ensuring compliance, the company is now fully prepared to enter the market and compete directly with industry giants like Ola Scooter.
Top Reasons Why Simple One is a Game-Changer
1) Impressive Battery Performance : Ola Electric Scooter S1 Pro boasts an 8.5 kW motor and a 3.9 kW battery, capable of accelerating from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Simple Energy One was initially slated to feature a 7 kWh motor and a 4.8 kWh battery. However, the company has made crucial updates to meet safety standards.
The Simple One will now be equipped with an 8.5 kW motor generating a powerful 72 Nm of torque. This remarkable motor enables the scooter to achieve a 0-40 km/h acceleration in under 3 seconds.
2) Enhanced Speed and Range: With a top speed of 115 km/h and a range of 181 km on a full charge, the Ola S1 Pro delivers impressive performance.
In comparison, the Simple Energy One offers a top speed of 105 km/h and an extended range of up to 236 km on a full charge.
This translates to an additional 55 km of range over its competitor, meeting the demands of electric scooter enthusiasts who prioritize maximum distance coverage.
3) Reduced Charging Time: Ola claims its e-scooter can be fully charged in 6 hours, while their hypercharging station can charge the vehicle for a range of up to 75 km in just 18 minutes.
Although Simple Energy has not provided specific details regarding charging time, previous reports suggested that the Simple One could be charged up to 50% within the time it takes to enjoy a morning tea and breakfast.
Additionally, the Simple One is expected to support hypercharging, ensuring convenient and efficient charging options for users.
Shared Features
Both Ola and Simple Energy offer 7-inch touchscreen displays on their electric scooters, providing a seamless user experience.
These screens support multitasking and display essential information such as the scooter’s range, speed, battery status, call details, music options, and navigation.
Moreover, both scooters can be connected to dedicated mobile apps, allowing users to access and control various features remotely.
The app facilitates functions like locking/unlocking the scooter and includes geo-fencing security to track the vehicle.
Additionally, music enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite tunes with the built-in speakers on both models.
Pricing and Variants
Ola has introduced three models under its S1 series of electric scooters, namely the S1 Air, S1, and S1 Pro.
These models are priced at Rs 84,999, Rs 99,999, and Rs 1,24,999, respectively. However, the prices may vary in different states due to subsidies and battery options.
On the other hand, the Simple Energy One will be available at a price of Rs.
1,09,999. It is worth noting that these prices were accurate two years ago, and changes may have been implemented since then.
