Non-compliant Number Plate Violations: Residents of Noida, pay attention! If you haven’t yet installed the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) on your vehicle, be prepared to face penalties.
The Transport Department is cracking down on this issue and will take action against vehicles without HSRPs starting from June 5.
First-time offenders will be fined Rs 5,000, while repeat offenders will face a hefty fine of Rs 10,000.
Surprisingly, over 40% of vehicles in Noida still lack this essential security measure.
It’s worth noting that HSRPs became mandatory for all private vehicles before April 2019.
However, the same requirement was extended to commercial vehicles only in November 2021.
Astonishingly, around 400,000 private vehicles and approximately 24,000 commercial vehicles in Noida remain without HSRPs.
How to Obtain an HSRP:
Acquiring a high security registration plate has become a hassle-free process.
Visit the official website and register through the Book My HSRP portal.
The fees amount to approximately Rs 600 for four-wheelers and Rs 400 for two-wheelers.
If you wish to have the number plate delivered to your doorstep,
an additional charge of Rs 250 (for four-wheelers) and Rs 125 (for two-wheelers) is applicable.
For any assistance, a toll-free number (8929722201) is available.
Siyaram Verma, an Administrative Officer in Noida, emphasized that as of February 2023, all private vehicles must have the high security registration plate.
A dedicated campaign against non-compliant vehicles will commence on June 5, with penalties of Rs 5,000 imposed on violators.
According to HSRP data:
1) 256,782 old vehicles have HSRPs.
2) 355,672 new vehicles have HSRPs.
3) 2,706 vehicles without HSRPs have already faced consequences.
4) 400,000 private vehicles currently remain without HSRPs.
