The biggest bank in India, State Bank of India (SBI), wants to make it easier for people to join two important insurance schemes called Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
Now, customers don’t have to visit the bank to sign up for these schemes.
You don’t have to go to the bank or customer service center anymore.
SBI’s Chairman, Dinesh Khara, said that now customers can enroll themselves in PMJJBY and PMSBY without going to the bank or customer service center.
They can do it whenever they want. All they need to do is enter their account number and date of birth on the Jan Suraksha Portal.
Then, they select the bank, and once they pay the premium, their insurance certificate will be ready immediately.
SBI is using more technology to make things easier for customers. Dinesh Khara said the bank wants to provide better services to customers by using technology more effectively.
This move will help the Indian government’s campaign to provide insurance to all citizens through PMJJBY and PMSBY.
