Samsung, a big tech company from South Korea, is very popular for its smartphones in India. This year, Samsung became the number-one smartphone brand, beating Xiaomi.
If you use a Samsung phone, you’ll be happy to know about the new update from the company.
Samsung is adding a Battery Protection feature to its phones, which will make your phone’s battery last longer and perform better for many years.
Samsung has announced that the next update, called OneUI, will include the battery protection feature.
The goal is to improve the battery life of devices. According to a report from 9to5Google, users of Samsung Galaxy phones running on Android 14 have already seen a preview of this feature.
It will be added to the Settings menu of OneUI 6.1, and many devices will receive this update next month.
There have been leaks about the new feature from the current OneUI 6.0. It shows that the battery protection feature is already a part of Galaxy devices using OneUI 6.0 based on Android 14, but users can’t see it.
To access this feature, users need to manually open an app called ‘Activity Launcher.’
In this app, there is an option called BatteryProtectionActivity that users can launch to access a new menu.
The new menu will provide users with three options for battery protection
Basic Protection: The charger won’t charge the device to 100%, but at least 95% charging will be available.
Adaptive Protection: Fast charging stops at 80%, and the phone gradually charges to 100% based on the user’s phone usage habits.
Maximum Protection: Charging stops at 80%.
The new feature is expected to reach users in the next few weeks. It will help improve battery performance and life by preventing the battery from getting fully charged.
The release is anticipated to be next month, possibly alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup.
