Samsung launches Galaxy XCover 7 and Tab Active 5 with 5G Connectivity

Samsung has released its toughest smartphone and tablet that won’t break if dropped from a height.

We’re talking about the Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 smartphone and the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 tablet.

These come with 5G connectivity. The new XCover phone comes six months after the previous model, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.

Both the XCover 7 and the Tab Active 5 are very durable, certified with IP68 and military-grade (MIL-STD-810H) toughness.

They even have Gorilla Glass Victus protection to withstand tough working conditions.

The phone has a strong 50-megapixel rear camera and a 4050mAh battery, while the tablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5050mAh battery.

Price and Availability: Samsung hasn’t announced the prices of the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active 5 yet, but they will be available for purchase at the end of this month.

The Galaxy XCover 7 supports dual SIM (SIM + embedded SIM) and has a TFT display.

The selfie camera is in a water drop-style notch, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus for durability.

It runs on an octa-core 6 nm processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (expandable up to 1TB).

The phone also has a powerful 50-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and supports fast charging through a USB Type-C port.

It includes various connectivity options and onboard sensors for safety, like face recognition and a fingerprint sensor.

The phone is also MIL-STD-810H certified for protection against falls and has an IP68-rated build for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5, which also supports dual SIM, runs on Android 14 with an 8-inch WUXGA TFT display.

It boasts a 120 Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powered by a 5nm octa-core processor with up to 8GB of RAM, it comes in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, expandable up to 1TB.

The tablet has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include 5G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, and more.

It is MIL-STD-810H certified and has an IP68 rating, making it resilient against vibration, accidental shock, falls, rain, and dust.

The tablet supports S Pen, facial recognition, and includes an active button, Dolby Atmos speakers, and Samsung Knox for customization.

The tablet’s dimensions are 126.8×213.8×10.1 mm, and it weighs 433 grams.
