The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 has started in Delhi at Pragati Maidan, and it will go on from February 1 to February 3.
Royal Enfield, a famous motorcycle company, has introduced a new type of motorcycle at this event.
It’s called the Classic 350 with a Fuel Flex engine. This means the motorcycle can now run on a mix of ethanol and petrol, which is also known as E20.
The best part is that it uses the same engine as the regular Classic 350, but the fuel is more affordable than regular petrol.
The new flex fuel Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a 349cc engine, and it produces 20.2hp of power at 6,100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
It comes with a 5-speed transmission, the same as other Royal Enfield models like Meteor, Hunter, and Bullet.
The company might also introduce flex-fuel versions of these bikes in the future.
The Classic 350 is available in green and red colors, and its prices range from Rs 1.93 lakh to Rs 2.25 lakh.
Now, let’s understand what E20 fuel is. E20 stands for a mix of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol. Ethanol is a biofuel made by fermenting sugar.
In India, the government has a program called Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) to blend ethanol with petrol and reduce the use of fossil fuels.
To explain the pricing of 1 liter of E20 petrol, let’s consider the petrol price in Delhi, which is around Rs 96 per liter. In E20, 80% is petrol, so its price is Rs 76.80.
Ethanol, which makes up the remaining 20%, costs about Rs 55 per liter. So, the ethanol cost is Rs 11.
Therefore, one liter of E20 petrol includes Rs 76.80 for petrol and Rs 11 for ethanol, making the total Rs 87.80. This means E20 petrol is Rs 8.20 cheaper than regular petrol.
