Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up River has launched the Indie electric scooter as its first vehicle in the domestic market.
The company claims this is the new River Indie scooter SUV. Along with launching this electric scooter today, the company has also started its official booking.
The scooter is priced at Rs. 1,25,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) after the FAME II subsidy, for which the company has currently applied.
Interested customers can book this scooter by paying a booking amount of just Rs.1,250.
According to the start-up, this electric scooter has been designed at the company’s Research and Development Center in Bengaluru.
The company says that the River Indy has a new design philosophy with many unique features like the most significant storage space of 55 liters (43 liters of boot space and 12 liters of glove box),
which makes it even better than other scooters available in the market. It is claimed that this scooter is capable of lifting to 200 kg.
Power and Performance:
The electric motor provided in this electric scooter gives a maximum power of 6.7kW and a top speed of 90 kmph. This scooter can achieve 18-degree gradeability.
This scooter has a battery pack of 4kWh capacity, which gives a driving range of 120 km (on eco mode).
This electric scooter comes with three different driving modes: Eco, Ride, and Rush. Its battery gets charged up to 80 percent in 5 hours with a standard charger.
IndieEV Features :
The company has given a 14-inch wheel in River Indie, the first scooter in the segment in which such a big wheel has been given.
Its big wheel provides a high riding position for the driver. It also gets a lock and load pannier stay, which will be very useful for the customers.
It has twin-beam headlamps, unique taillamps, and a motorcycle-styled clip-on handlebar.
The company claims this scooter has the longest and widest seat in the segment.
The Indy also gets front footpegs, a first seen in the scooter segment in India.
It gets telescopic suspension at the front and a twin rear hydraulic suspension at the rear, which makes the ride even more comfortable.
Its delivery will be started in August 2023. The company is giving 5 years warranty with it.
