Reliance Jio removes Rs 149 and Rs 179 Prepaid Plans

New Delhi:

Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator, has quietly discontinued its Rs 149 and Rs 179 prepaid recharge plans.

These plans, which were available even after a tariff hike, have now been completely removed.

This change has made it more expensive to keep a Jio SIM active for outgoing calls.

Changes in Benefits and Validity

Previously, the Rs 149 plan offered a validity of 20 days with 1 GB data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS daily.

Now, its validity has been reduced to 14 days while maintaining the same benefits.

Similarly, the Rs 179 plan,

which had a 24-day validity, now lasts for 18 days with unchanged benefits.

Introduction of Jio’s New Minimum Validity Recharge Plan

Reliance Jio’s new minimum validity recharge plan is now priced at Rs 189.

This plan offers 2 GB of mobile data, unlimited calling, 300 SMS, and access to Jio apps, valid for 28 days.

Previously priced at Rs 155,

this plan has seen a 22% increase in cost.

Changes in Previous Plans

Previously, Jio’s Rs 149 plan provided 1 GB data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS daily with a validity of 20 days.

Now, its validity has been reduced to 14 days while retaining the same benefits.

Similarly, the Rs 179 plan, which used to last 24 days with identical benefits,

now offers an 18-day validity.

Recent Tariff Changes

Last week, Jio increased the prices of 17 of its prepaid plans.

For instance, the Rs 209 plan is now priced at Rs 249, the Rs 239 plan at Rs 299, and so on, with corresponding changes in validity periods.
