Chinese smartphone manufacturer Redmi has introduced its latest offerings, the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones, in the Indian market.
These budget-friendly devices come equipped with a powerful 5,000 mAh battery and will be available for purchase starting May 23.
Consumers can buy these smartphones through various channels including Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Xiaomi’s retail partners.
Starting at an attractive price of Rs 5,999, the Redmi A2 offers a 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant. Additionally, there are options for a 2GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 6,499, and a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 7,499.
On the other hand, the Redmi A2+ is available only in a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, priced at Rs 8,499. Both models are offered in stylish color options including Black, Light Green, and Light Blue.
Customers using ICICI Bank cards can avail a cashback of Rs 500 on their purchase, and a two-year warranty is provided with the smartphones.
Specifications of Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+
The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones are dual SIM devices running on Android 13. They feature a 6.52-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixels) LCD screen with a 120Hz touch sampling rate. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, these smartphones offer up to 4 GB of RAM.
Additionally, the devices support Virtual RAM, allowing users to expand the available memory up to 7 GB. The smartphones are equipped with a dual rear camera setup with AI support, featuring an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a QVGA camera.
For selfies and video chats, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera is included. Both models come with 64GB of storage that can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Redmi A2+ provides an added layer of security with its built-in fingerprint scanner. Both smartphones boast a long-lasting 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging.
Redmi Note 12S Also Launched
Earlier this month, Redmi introduced the Redmi Note 12S, which is currently available exclusively in Poland.
The device comes in three color variants – Ice Blue, Pearl Green, and Onyx Black – and is offered in two storage configurations: 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
