Punjab National Bank to impose Charges for Insufficient Balance at ATMs

Starting May 1, 2023, Punjab National Bank, also known as PNB, will be enforcing a new policy wherein customers who attempt to withdraw money from ATMs with insufficient balance in their bank accounts will be charged a transaction fee of ₹10 plus GST.

The bank has officially announced this update on its website and advises PNB customers to be aware of this change to prevent any unanticipated charges.

PNB Customers to Pay Fine at ATMs for Insufficient Balance Transactions

If you carry out an ATM transaction with an insufficient balance in your account, you will be charged a minimum amount along with GST.

Punjab National Bank has also indicated its intention to raise the yearly fee for issuing and upkeeping debit and prepaid cards, and levy fees on e-commerce transactions made through POS and debit cards.

Therefore, PNB customers should remain updated on these modifications to effectively manage their finances.

How PNB Customers Can Block their Stolen or Lost Card Immediately?

Punjab National Bank provides quick solutions to prevent any unauthorized access to your lost or stolen ATM or Credit Card.

You can contact the bank’s toll-free number, 1800 180 2222, to instantly block your card.

Additionally, customers can also send an SMS to 5607040 from their registered mobile number or utilize internet banking services to execute the same action.

Additionally, DNA India reported that in the event of a failed ATM withdrawal where the amount has already been debited from the customer’s account, PNB has assured that such cases will be resolved within 7 days.

However, if a claim is lodged within 30 days, the bank will compensate the customer with a fine of Rs 100 per day. Customers can register their complaints by calling 0120.2490000.

The modifications in PNB’s policies are intended to enhance the bank’s services and operations while ensuring customer satisfaction.
