Protect Your Booking of Fake IRCTC Apps and Websites (How to Check)

If you’re using the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website or app for ticket booking, be cautious.

IRCTC has issued a warning about the proliferation of fake apps and websites using its name.

Some of these fraudulent apps are circulating on Google Play Store, and some are being shared as APK files.

The fake versions closely resemble the real IRCTC platforms, making it challenging to distinguish between them.

Identifying Genuine IRCTC App

IRCTC’s official app for booking tickets is called “IRCTC Rail Connect.” It’s the only authentic app you should use.

This app can be securely downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

The legitimate IRCTC Rail Connect app has been downloaded over 50 million times and holds a 3.7 rating on Google Play Store.

When downloading the app, cross-check these details to ensure you’re getting the genuine version.

Spotting the Real App

Look for the “IRCTC Official” label within the app to confirm its authenticity.

Avoid downloading the app from third-party sources to prevent falling for fake versions.

To distinguish between the real and fake apps, compare the screenshots provided.

Be cautious of an APK file called “irctcconnect.apk” that’s circulating on Telegram and WhatsApp.

Additionally, stay away from the deceptive site “https://irctc.creditmobile.site.” Remember, the authentic IRCTC site is “https://www.irctc.co.in.”
