PM Awas Yojana Upgrade for Increased Funds (See Details)

Under the 2024 Prime Minister’s Housing Plus Scheme (PM Housing Plus Scheme-2024), people who need it can apply both offline and online.

This plan, run by the Rural Development Ministry of the Central Government, gives money to applicants based on where they live.

In plain areas, applicants receive Rs 1,20,000, and in hilly or hard-to-reach areas, they get Rs 1,30,000.

The government is thinking of increasing this amount by Rs 1,00,000 for both categories, as per sources in the Rural Development Ministry. A notification about this might come out soon.

This scheme’s main aim is to provide homes to people in need who haven’t received benefits from the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme before.

The government conducted a survey from January 2018 to March 2019 to find such beneficiaries.

Around 2.95 crore people claimed they were left out in the 2011 survey. The government helps families below the poverty line through this scheme.

The government launched the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for the poor for the first time on June 25, 2015.

Beneficiaries receive subsidies to build houses based on income and region. This scheme is divided into urban and rural parts under the Ministry of Urban Housing.

The Prime Minister’s Housing Plus Scheme, on the other hand, is under the Ministry of Rural Development.

In the last budget, the Central Government introduced the Housing Plus Scheme.

It’s separate from the Ministry of Urban Housing and benefits those who missed out on the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme and earlier ones.

More than 4 crore applications have been received from 30 states and union territories under this scheme.

Despite setting a target to provide everyone in the country with a permanent roof by 2022, many people still don’t have one.

The Housing Plus scheme is a collaboration with states to help such individuals. To apply, you can do it offline or online, even by visiting your village’s Panchayat buildings.

You need an Aadhar card, MNREGA registration if applicable, and details of the beneficiary’s bank account.

Identification is based on parameters from the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC)-2011.
