In the Pixel 8 Pro, there’s a nano version of Gemini AI for on-device tasks. Currently, it helps with two things.
Firstly, it suggests replies for WhatsApp messages. Secondly, it provides summaries in the recorder app. Since it operates on-device, your data stays on your phone.

This app allows users to record and transcribe audio. With Gemini support, you can easily get summaries of recorded conversations, interviews, or presentations.
The Gemini Nano ensures you can access these summaries even without an internet connection. Additionally, the Recorder app now transcribes in 28 new languages.
Gboard Support: Gemini Nano will also support Gboard. This means users will get a smart reply option during chats, helping them know what to reply next.
Currently, this feature works with WhatsApp, but it will expand to other apps in 2024.
Google assures that Gemini AI’s suggested responses will be of higher quality because the AI model is more aware of natural conversations.
