The government has announced that there are over 20 lakh vacancies on the National Career Service (NCS) Portal.
This is the first time the total number of vacancies on the NCS Portal has exceeded 20 lakh.
Labor Ministry said in the official statement
The Ministry of Labor and Employment shared this information in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The ministry announced that on July 30, 2024, the total number of vacancies on the portal exceeded 20 lakh for the first time.
According to the official statement, most of the vacancies are in the finance and insurance sectors.
Additionally, there is a high demand for workers in sectors such as operations, support, and manufacturing.
These sectors have the highest number of vacancies
The ministry has announced that the portal is currently filled with vacancies across various sectors, including finance and manufacturing.
The highest number of vacancies, 14.7 lakh, are in the finance and insurance sector.
Additionally, there are 1.08 lakh vacancies in operations and support, 0.75 lakh in other service sector activities, 0.71 lakh in manufacturing, 0.59 lakh in transport and storage,
0.58 lakh in IT and communication, 0.43 lakh in education, 0.25 lakh in wholesale and retail, and 0.20 lakh in health.
Plenty of opportunities for fresher youth
The positive aspect of the vacancies on the portal is that there are many opportunities for freshers. The ministry stated that most jobs are suitable for those with a 12th-grade education, ITI, or Diploma.
Additionally, there are specialized positions for individuals with higher education and expert qualifications.
Ministry presented updated version
The ministry launched the National Career Service Portal to offer job opportunities and assist companies in finding qualified candidates.
The updated version, NCS 2.0, now includes artificial intelligence to enhance its functionality.
The NCS portal offers opportunities through job fairs, integration with other job portals via APIs, and vacancies posted by companies.
