OnePlus and Realme Now to Halt TV Sales in India (Check Reason)

OnePlus and Realme are reportedly saying goodbye to the TV market in India. They’re also ending local TV production.

OnePlus, currently the fourth biggest smart TV brand in India with an 8% market share, is making this surprising move.

Reasons for this exit have not been disclosed, but both companies will gradually withdraw from the TV category in the nation.

OnePlus introduced its first TV in India back in September 2019, with Realme following suit the next year.

In the past four years, both firms expanded their TV business, and during this time, smart TV sales in India also went up.

OnePlus, with an 8.2% market share, ranks fourth among smart TV brands in India, trailing behind leaders like Samsung and LG. OnePlus’ TV division has grown thanks to its premium smartphone brand recognition.

What’s unexpected is that OnePlus and Realme are stepping away from the TV market at a time when smart TVs are booming in India.

Additionally, both companies were producing TVs locally in India. OnePlus even has a large manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, capable of producing one million TVs.

As per reports, both OnePlus and Realme will halt local TV unit production. Nonetheless, they will continue manufacturing smartphones in the country.

Official statements from OnePlus and Realme regarding this situation are still pending, as they haven’t responded to media inquiries about their TV market exit.
