HMD Global recently changed their branding from Nokia to HMD. Now, instead of Nokia.com, they use HMD.com.
They also switched their social media handle from @nokiamobile to @HMDglobal. They’re getting ready to release a new smartphone, and they’ve released a teaser for it.
The new phones will only have the HMD brand. But here’s a surprise: Nokia-branded smartphones have been spotted in the IMEI database!
The Nokia story continues with new smartphones showing up again. According to a report from GSM China, 17 new Nokia smartphones are coming soon, with model numbers ranging from TA-1603 to TA-1628.
Some might even be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona from February 26th to 29th.
Nokia and HMD partnered up in 2016 for a 10-year deal, lasting until 2026. This means Nokia will keep launching phones under HMD’s name.
Meanwhile, HMD is also planning to launch their own smartphones. Their upcoming phones have been spotted in the IMEI database, indicating internal testing.
There’s been a leak about a new handset with the codename N159V. It has a dual rear camera with a 108-megapixel primary sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS).
It’s expected to come in black and cyan colors with a plastic frame, and the HMD logo will be in the center of the back panel. The company is likely to announce these new devices soon.
