Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that flights from Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Dehradun will be replaced by executive class buses, offering a cost-effective and efficient alternative.
Executive Class Buses to Replace Flights
Gadkari emphasized the development of roads that will allow passengers to travel from Delhi to Dehradun or Jaipur in just two hours via air-conditioned executive buses.
These buses will feature amenities similar to those found in airplanes, such as a bus hostess and refreshments.
The ticket prices for these buses will be 30 percent lower than those of diesel buses, providing a more affordable and time-saving option for travelers.
Infrastructure Development and Future Plans
While dedicating a six-lane elevated road in Goa, Gadkari urged the state government to create a master plan to improve transport services, with projects worth Rs 25,000-30,000 crore planned for the next five years.
Gadkari also highlighted the potential for innovative transportation solutions like drone taxis and water taxis, which could significantly enhance public transport and reduce pollution.
