Ranchi :
As per recent reports, Indian Railways is gearing up to introduce the first Vande Bharat Express for Bihar and Jharkhand on the Ranchi-Patna route.
This new express train is expected to start operating before April 23, 2023 and will link the cities of Ranchi in Jharkhand and Patna in Bihar.
The semi-high speed train is anticipated to reduce the travel time between these two cities to approximately 6 hours.
The train will pass through Tatisilwai, BIT Mesra, Barkakana, and Hazaribagh
and operate for 6 days a week, similar to most other Vande Bharat Trains.
With the introduction of this new train on the Ranchi-Patna route, India will add its 15th Vande Bharat Express to its fleet,
which will be accompanied by five other trains that are slated to be inaugurated in April.
Earlier this month, the Prime Minister launched the country’s 11th Vande Bharat Express, the Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat train on April 1, 2023.
The inaugural run of this train set a new record by being the first Vande Bharat Express to exceed the speed limit of 160 kmph.
The upcoming Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to depart from the Ranchi junction at 7:30 am and arrive at Patna Railway Station at 2 pm,
completing the 350 km journey in just over 6 hours.
On its return trip, the semi-high speed train will depart from Patna at 3:30 pm and reach Ranchi at 10:30 pm, covering the same distance in 6 hours.
The Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express will be Jharkhand’s inaugural train of this type, and training is currently being provided to the locomotive pilots and crew members for operating Vande Bharat Express trains.
According to sources, the South Eastern Railway officials have been directed to make the necessary arrangements for the Vande Bharat Express train’s operations,
and maintenance work for this train will be carried out at the Hatia yard.
The government aims to operate a total of 75 Vande Bharat trains across the country,
with 15 of them expected to be operational by April 2023.
