Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has introduced the updated Jawa 42 in India. The new model is priced at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated bike features several mechanical and cosmetic changes.
Engine and Performance
The Jawa 42 continues to use a 294.7cc, liquid-cooled engine, now known as the J-Panther. This engine generates 27bhp of power and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
It also includes an assist and slip clutch. The engine offers a wide spread of torque and improved low-end performance.
Enhancements to the cooling system and engine capacity make it more refined compared to the previous model.
The transmission has been smoothed out, with adjustments to the tuning for better responsiveness in the lower gears and improved mid-range and top-end performance in the higher gears.
Design and Features
The bike’s design remains similar to the older model, featuring a round headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a curved rear fender.
However, the seat has been redesigned for increased comfort. The frame is a double cradle setup with telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers,
and the suspension hardware has been retained with modified compression and rebound damping. The bike comes with alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.
The 2024 Jawa 42 targets the new generation of riders seeking both style and performance. It will be available in 14 colors, offered in both matte and gloss finishes.
In the Indian market, it competes with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Royal Enfield Classic 350.
