The new Maruti Suzuki Swift, the fourth generation, will be ready for sale in India on May 9, 2024.
Even though the official bookings haven’t begun, a few Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships are now taking pre-orders for a small amount of Rs 11,000.
The new Swift will look better, have more features, and come with a new engine that uses less fuel.
The engine
The 2024 Maruti Swift in India will have some small changes in appearance compared to the one in Japan.
The biggest change is its engine: a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine (called Z12), which replaces the older 4-cylinder one.
This new engine is lighter, meets strict emission rules, and has better fuel efficiency. It might also have a bit of hybrid tech to save even more fuel.
Maruti Suzuki will also use this engine for the new Dezire compact sedan, coming later in 2024.
Design and size
The new 2024 Swift will be built on a new platform and will be a bit longer. Its length, width, and height will be 3860 mm, 1695 mm, and 1500 mm respectively.
Inside, it’ll have a new black/beige theme inspired by other cars like the Baleno hatchback.
Features and cost
The new Swift will have a 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It’ll also have things like automatic AC, a special steering wheel, a digital screen, push-button start, adjustable seats, and a rear heater.
With all these updates, the new Swift will be a bit more expensive than the current model, which ranges from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.03 lakh at the showroom.
