Reliance Jio and Qualcomm are teaming up to bring a new affordable 5G smartphone to India.
This will be the first Jio Phone to use a Qualcomm processor. The phone is expected to cost less than Rs 9,000 and should be available by the end of this year.

They’re encouraging 2G users in India to switch to 5G-enabled phones. India’s research and development teams are working hard on creating these chipsets.
Back in August 2022, during Reliance Industries’ 45th Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced the collaboration between Reliance Jio
and Qualcomm to develop 5G products not just for India but for the whole world.
In January 2024, Qualcomm revealed plans to invest ₹177.27 crore to establish a design center in Chennai.
It’s worth noting that Qualcomm already has research and development centers in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Noida.
