India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has finally launched the new generation 2024 Swift after a long wait. The starting price is Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model features a Z series engine, enhancing the car’s mileage.
The 4th generation Swift is now available at dealerships, and Maruti has started bookings with a token amount of Rs 11,000. Let’s explore its key features.
Safety Features
Maruti Suzuki has significantly improved the safety of the 2024 Swift. It includes hill hold control, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), new suspension, and 6 airbags across all variants.
Other impressive safety features are cruise control, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and brake assist (BA).
Brand New Interior
The 2024 Swift boasts a completely redesigned and luxurious interior. The cabin features rear AC vents, a wireless charger, and dual charging ports. A rearview camera assists in parking.
The car comes with a 9-inch free-standing infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with wireless connectivity.
The redesigned center console includes an auto climate control panel, similar to the Baleno and Grand Vitara models. Additionally, it has new LED fog lamps.
Pricing
Maruti Suzuki offers the 2024 Swift in six variants: LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi, ZXi+, and ZXi+ Dual Tone. The base variant LXi is priced at Rs 6.49 lakh, while the top model ZXi Dual Tone costs Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine Powertrain and Mileage
The new 2024 Swift features a brand new Z series engine, significantly improving mileage over the previous model. The 1.2L Z12E 3-cylinder NA petrol engine produces 80bhp and 112nm torque.
It includes a mild hybrid setup and offers 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. The company claims a mileage of 24.80kmpl for the manual FE variant and 25.75kmpl for the automatic FE variant.
