Microsoft is joining forces with the Paige company to detect cancer. They want to make the biggest AI model in the world, which looks at pictures, to find cancer. They told us about this partnership last Thursday.
It can find cancer
The smart computer is being checked with lots of information, including billions of pictures.
It can find cancers that happen a lot and cancers that don’t happen much.
Scientists think this will help doctors who don’t have enough help and have more and more patients.
Paige will use Microsoft’s powerful supercomputer system and later make it available to hospitals and labs all over the world using something called Azure.
This way, they can teach the technology to work on a big scale.
AI in healthcare
Microsoft teaming up with Paige is one of many recent efforts to use AI to make finding cancer better.
Also, Google said in July that they are making a smart computer that can find skin cancer by looking at pictures of moles.
In February, IBM Watson Health introduced a smart tool that uses AI to aid doctors in finding breast cancer. These efforts aim to make healthcare better with the help of AI.
