MG To Launch Comet EV By April

The MG Comet has been a topic of interest for the automaker for some time now.

So far, MG has only released images of the Comet EV and confirmed its name.

Despite the fact that the vehicle is essentially identical to the Wuling Air EV, MG has yet to disclose its final specifications and launch date.

However, there is speculation that the EV may make its debut in the second half of April.

Although technical details and features for the MG Comet have not been formally announced, a few things are known.

The vehicle will have three doors and will essentially be a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV sold in Indonesia. The wheels are expected to be 13 inches in size.

MG Comet EV: Specifications and Features

Inside the cabin, the electric MG Comet is expected to offer a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, as well as connected car technology.

According to reports, the vehicle may be equipped with a 25kWh battery and a 50kW motor, providing a range of around 250 km on a single full charge.

The MG Comet will face competition from vehicles like the Citroen e-C3 and Tata Tiago.ev, with the former priced between Rs. 11.50 lakh and Rs. 12.43 lakh and the latter between Rs. 8.69 lakh and Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The MG Comet will be MG’s fifth model in India, following the Astor, Hector 2023, Gloster, and ZS EV.

MG Motor To Update Battery Thermal Management System

To better suit Indian driving conditions, MG’s engineering team is updating the battery thermal management system and air conditioning of the upcoming electric vehicle, which may be given a different name.

The vehicle is characterized by its boxy design and a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, wireless connectivity, and connected car technology.

The China-spec Wuling Air EV offers two electric motor options: 30kW (40bhp) and 50kW (67bhp), with ranges of 200km and 300km, respectively, both coupled with a single-speed automatic transmission.

For the India-specific version, the battery pack will be supplied by Tata AutoComp.
