Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to make significant strides in the Indian market, with plans to introduce a variety of new SUV models and updated versions of existing products over the next few years.
The company is set to expand its SUV portfolio and launch several new-generation and facelifted models.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV in India, with a possible release date in the last weeks of May.
Potential buyers can reserve the vehicle by making a token payment of Rs 25,000 at authorized dealerships or online.
The Jimny is one of the most highly anticipated Maruti cars in the country.
The new SUV is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (K15B), capable of producing 103bhp and 134Nm of torque.
It will be available with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Jimny model range includes the Zeta and Alpha variants, both of which are loaded with features like a SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, a reverse camera, a color MID display, and numerous other amenities.

New Maruti Premium MPV
Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce its first-ever rebadged Toyota vehicle, a premium MPV based on the Innova Hycross.
This offering will be the most expensive car in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup in India.
The MPV will be powered by the same 2.0L petrol engine with and without hybrid technology.
The hybrid setup will produce a peak power of 186PS with 206Nm of torque, while the petrol unit delivers 174PS with 205Nm.
The new Maruti MPV will be built on Toyota’s TNGA-C monocoque platform and feature advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered second-row seats with ottoman function, connected car technology, and more.

Maruti 7-Seater SUV
Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the premium 7-seater SUV segment in the near future.
According to reports, the new Maruti SUV will be based on the Grand Vitara and compete with the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700.
This will be Maruti Suzuki’s third NEXA offering this year. Official information about the model is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be equipped with Toyota’s strong hybrid powertrain, as well as a naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
This means that the SUV may offer both a 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid and a 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid powertrain.

New-Gen Maruti Swift
Suzuki, the Japanese automaker, has begun testing the next-generation Swift hatchback on the streets of Europe.
According to reports, the new model is set to make its global debut in mid-2023 and is expected to arrive in India sometime next year.
The highly anticipated 2024 Maruti Swift will feature significant design changes and an upgraded cabin.
It will be based on the stronger version of the HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback.
The car will continue to be powered by a 1.2L DualJet petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options.
In addition, the new model will receive a factory-fitted CNG kit.
The most noteworthy feature is the new 1.2L petrol engine with a strong hybrid powertrain that is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of over 40kmpl, making the new Swift the most fuel-efficient car in the country, if reports are to be believed.

Next-gen Maruti Dzire
Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the next-generation Dzire compact sedan in 2024 with significant design changes, an all-new interior, and a highly fuel-efficient powertrain.
The new Dzire will be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform, which is already used in the Baleno and Fronx models.
The upcoming sedan will feature a new 1.2L petrol engine that incorporates strong hybrid technology to boost fuel efficiency, with an estimated mileage of 35-40 kmpl (ARAI rated).
It is expected that the strong hybrid Dzire will be priced around Rs 1 lakh – Rs 1.50 lakh higher than the regular petrol variants.

Maruti Electric SUV
The Indo-Japanese carmakers, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, have announced plans to launch an electric vehicle in India by 2025.
The first EV from Maruti Suzuki will be a mid-sized SUV with a length of about 4.2 meters.
The Suzuki-Toyota joint venture is currently working on the development of the 27PL platform, which is a different derivative of the 40PL platform.
This new platform will be used to create a range of family EVs such as compact cars, MPVs or SUVs. The first mid-sized electric SUV will be based on this 27PL platform.
The upcoming mid-sized electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, scheduled to launch in the Indian market by 2025, will feature a battery pack sourced from TDSG, a battery manufacturing joint venture between Suzuki, Denso, and Toshiba.
A prototype of the EV, called the EVX, was showcased by MSIL at the 2023 Auto Expo, and the production version of the SUV is expected to debut by early 2025.
The concept model boasted a 60kWh battery pack and was claimed to deliver a range of 550km on a single charge.
