Maruti Suzuki Engage: Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is venturing into the premium car segment with its upcoming launch of a new premium MPV called Engage.
Based on the Toyota Innova Highcross, the Maruti Suzuki Engage is set to be unveiled on July 5. It will be the most expensive car offered by Maruti Suzuki in India.
While the Engage will share its platform with the Innova Highcross, it will feature a distinct design to give it a unique appeal.
A leaked image reveals that the front grille of the MPV will resemble the Grand Vitara SUV, finished in black with chrome accents. The hexagonal-mesh patterned grille is expected to enhance the front fascia’s attractiveness.
The Engage will come with a 6/7-seater layout and will be the first Maruti car to feature Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
It will include features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane departure alert, rear cross traffic alert, and high beam assist.
Powertrain options for the Engage will be similar to the Innova Highcross. It will be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 171 Bhp and 205 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission.
Additionally, it will offer a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid petrol powertrain (184 Bhp) connected to an e-CVT.
Bookings for the all-new Engage are expected to commence soon, with an official launch anticipated during the festive season.
The Toyota Innova Highcross is currently priced in the range of Rs 18.55 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Therefore, it can be speculated that the Maruti Suzuki Engage will be priced in a similar range.
