Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, two of India’s top passenger vehicle manufacturers, are gearing up to release their major products of the year.
Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce the Fronx compact crossover and 5-door Jimny, while Hyundai is set to launch the latest iteration of its Verna sedan.
Below are some important details about these upcoming models from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.
New-Gen Hyundai Verna
On March 21, 2023, the latest version of the Verna sedan from Hyundai Motor India will be available for purchase.
The car features an upgraded design, luxurious interior, and two petrol engine options: a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine that delivers 113 horsepower and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 160 horsepower.
Hyundai has also included several advanced features in the 2023 Verna, such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system, Bose audio system, touch-controlled climate panel,
and segment-leading heated seats, as well as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology.
Maruti Fronx
Maruti Suzuki is set to compete with Tata Punch by introducing the Fronx, which is expected to have pricing announced in April 2023.
This compact crossover, based on the Baleno hatchback, will come in five trims, including Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha.
The Fronx will be powered by two engines, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol Boosterjet engine with 100 horsepower and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 90 horsepower, both equipped with mild hybrid technology.
Key features of the Fronx include Suzuki connected car features, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, HUD, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control.
Maruti Jimny 5-door
Maruti Suzuki’s second major product launch for the year is the 5-door Jimny off-road SUV, which will be competing with the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar.
The Jimny is equipped with a 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, capable of producing 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque.
It comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Jimny is also packed with various features that improve its off-road capabilities, including a 50-degree departure angle, 36-degree approach angle, 24-degree ramp-over angle,
Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro drivetrain system with a dedicated low-ratio transfer case, and 210mm ground clearance.
