Coming up in April 2023 are two significant car launches by Maruti Suzuki and MG Motor India. Maruti Suzuki will reveal the pricing of their Fronx compact crossover, while MG Motor India will debut their MG Comet, a small 2-door electric car.
Below are the essential details of these highly anticipated new cars.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx compact crossover is one of the most eagerly awaited new cars of the year, and it will be the Indo-Japanese automaker’s first major product launch of 2023.
This model will be exclusively sold through the Nexa dealership network, and it is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 11 lakh.
The Fronx will be powered by two engine options – a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit – both of which are equipped with mild hybrid technology.
The former engine is capable of producing 100bhp with 147.6Nm of torque, while the latter delivers 90bhp with 113Nm of torque.
The Fronx will be available in three trim levels – Sigma, Delta, and Delta+.
This compact crossover is loaded with features such as a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a heads-up display, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology, and cruise control, among other things.
MG Comet
The British automaker’s upcoming release in India, the MG Comet, will be their smallest offering.
The official price of the car will be disclosed next month, but it is expected to be priced at approximately Rs 10 lakh.
This places it in competition with the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 in the same price range.
The MG Comet will be equipped with a 17.3kWh battery pack and offer a range of 200km on a single charge.
The higher-end variants will feature a 26.7kWh battery pack and offer a range of approximately 300km.
Additionally, the Comet will come with several features, including a dual 10.25-inch display, connected car technology,
keyless entry, automatic AC unit, steering-mounted controls, and a multi-functional two-spoke steering wheel.
