Good news for people waiting for Mahindra’s 5-door Thar SUV! Mahindra & Mahindra has announced when they’ll launch it.
During a recent meeting, they said the Big Thar SUV will hit Indian roads in the middle of this year.
The CEO mentioned that the five-door Thar will be introduced in the second quarter of 2024 and will be sold alongside the current 3-door Thar SUV.
When will the 5-door Thar be launched?
Mahindra has been testing the 5-door Thar SUV for a while now. Many details have been revealed during testing.
The CEO mentioned that it will be launched sometime in the middle of this year and will compete with the Maruti Jimny.
Design of the 5-door Thar
The 5-door Thar will be positioned above the current 3-door Thar. It will have new circular LED headlamps and updated grille.
New alloy wheels and LED tail lamps will also be there. The rear door handle will be near the C-pillar.
Interior of the 5-door Thar
The interior will be mostly similar to the 3-door variant but with a new dual-tone dashboard for a more up-market feel.
It will have a larger touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine of the 5-door Thar
It will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine, similar to other Mahindra SUVs like the 3-door Thar, Scorpio-N, and XUV700.
