Kia India is planning to bring a newer version of the Sonet Facelift sub-compact SUV to India on December 14, 2023, but the company hasn’t officially confirmed this yet.
According to the latest news, people might be able to book it starting next month on the 14th.
The official launch and prices are expected to be announced in January 2024.
The 2024 Kia Sonet will have some changes in its looks and features, but the engine will remain the same as the current model.
In terms of design, the model for China has already been seen, but the one for India will have different front and rear bumpers.
The front will have a new grille, headlamp, and LED daytime running lights. There will be some new alloy wheels, but not much change on the sides.
The back will have updated taillamps with connected LED lights.
As for features, the 2024 Sonet will come with ADAS technology, which might be available in the top variants.
It will also have new controls for the air conditioning, a changed dashboard, and an updated entertainment system.
The digital instrument cluster might be similar to the one in the carnes MPV, and there might be new seat covers too. For safety, all models will have six airbags.
In terms of power, the new Sonet will keep the same engine options – a 1.2L petrol with 83bhp and 115Nm, a 1.0L turbo petrol with 120bhp and 172Nm, and a 1.5L diesel with 116bhp and 250Nm.
The regular petrol engine will have a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol
and diesel engines will have the option of a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
