Kia Motors unveils its upcoming Electric Cars Concepts in Global EV Program (See Detail)

South Korean automaker Kia has revealed three new models as part of its first global electric vehicle (EV) program in Korea.

These models include the production-spec EV5, the EV4 sedan, and the EV3 compact SUV.

Kia intends to incorporate these electric vehicles into its global EV lineup, aiming to achieve 1 million EV sales by 2026.

Currently, Kia is selling the EV6, an all-electric SUV, in many international markets.

The company plans to introduce the flagship electric SUV, the EV9, soon, with a potential launch in India in 2024.

The EV9 is based on the new E-GMP modular platform, which is also used for the EV6.

Kia EV5 SUV

The EV5 SUV was recently unveiled in China in its production form. This is a global model that could also come to India.

It will be manufactured in both China and Korea for worldwide markets and comes in three versions: Standard, Long-Range, and Long-Range AWD.

The Standard version features a 64kWh battery pack and a 160kW electric motor, offering a certified range of 530 km on a single charge.

The Long Range model is equipped with a 160kW electric motor and an 88kWh battery pack, providing a range of 720 km on a single charge.

The top-tier Long Range AWD model boasts a 230kW motor and the same 88kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 650 km on a single charge.

Kia EV3 compact electric SUV

This is a preview of the brand’s new entry-level electric SUV, which could replace the Soul EV globally.

The SUV shares design elements with the larger EV5 and EV9 SUVs. This electric SUV is based on the brand’s new CMF design.

It has a steeply sloped windshield and a slender roofline, along with strong wheel arches and sturdy alloy wheels.

The SUV includes a small table that can be adjusted for size, position, and angle.

The foldable rear seat is like a bench and can be easily folded up to store heavy items such as electric scooters and bicycles.

Kia EV4 Sedan

The EV4 concept is a preview of an advanced electric sedan that will compete with the Tesla Model 3.

This concept sedan has a slant-back appearance with a sharp front design, including vertical headlights and large air intakes with a black finish.

While it takes some design inspiration from the EV6, it introduces many new styling features.

The sedan has a pointed front and a roofline that slims down toward the rear.

It has a long rear bumper and an integrated spoiler, along with pin-style air vents that can change their patterns.

The Concept EV4 also comes with a new ‘Mind Modes’ feature that combines ambient lighting and animated ventilation patterns.
