Reliance Jio is gearing up to introduce AirFiber, a high-speed internet service, as a special offering on Ganesh Chaturthi.
The announcement was made by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, during the company’s Annual General Meeting.
The anticipated launch date for Jio AirFiber is September 19.
This service will directly compete with Airtel’s recently unveiled Xstream AirFiber.
It promises users lightning-fast internet speeds and has already been introduced in select telecom circles earlier this month.
What Makes Jio AirFiber Special?
Jio AirFiber stands out as a fixed wireless access device, leveraging the power of Jio’s 5G network.
Users can expect to experience data speeds of up to 1Gbps, alongside support for the advanced Wi-Fi 6 technology.
The device will also feature essential ports like WAN, LAN, USB, and a power port.
While specific features are yet to be disclosed, Jio AirFiber aims to redefine high-speed connectivity.
Price Details for Jio AirFiber
Although the official pricing remains undisclosed, all will be revealed on the launch day itself. Leaks suggest that the starting price could be around ₹6000.
Enabling 5G High-Speed Internet
Mukesh Ambani outlined an ambitious target of deploying up to 150,000 Jio AirFiber connections daily during the Reliance AGM.
The company’s dedicated team is working tirelessly to achieve this goal.
Ambani emphasized that the arrival of Jio AirFiber will usher in 5G-powered high-speed internet for users.
No Optical Fiber Required
Jio AirFiber eliminates the need for laying new optical fiber cables.
Leveraging Jio Fiber’s existing optical fiber infrastructure spanning 1.5 million kilometers across the country, the service is set to expand the coverage of fiber networks.
Taking On Airtel’s Xtreme Fiber
Directly rivaling Airtel’s Xtreme Fiber, Jio AirFiber aims to provide superior connectivity.
Airtel’s basic monthly plan starts at ₹799, offering data speeds of 100mbps.
Additionally, a 6-month subscription demands ₹4,435 and an upfront security deposit of ₹2500.
Service Availability
Initially, Jio AirFiber will be available to users in Delhi and Mumbai.
To access the service, download the Xstream AirFiber app on your phone, scan the QR code, and enjoy seamless connectivity.
