Jio Broadband Plan: Jio has launched a new entry-level broadband plan, named Broadband Back-up plan, aimed at consolidating its position in the fixed broadband market.
Priced at Rs 198 per month, this plan offers a top internet speed of 10 Mbps per second.
Prior to this, the minimum cost for subscribing to Jio Fiber was Rs 399 per month.
The company has included an option in its plan, which enables users to increase their internet speed to either 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps for a period of 1 to 7 days.
This service comes at a cost ranging between Rs 21 to Rs 152.
According to a spokesperson from Jio, we recognize the importance of reliable broadband connectivity for customers who require continuous internet access at home.
In response to this need, JioFiber Backup was developed as a dependable alternative broadband connection for households.
This innovative concept of a backup connection ensures that homes have a reliable source of data at a reasonable cost.
Jio has taken the lead in the fixed-line connection segment, boasting 84 lakh customers and capturing 30.6% of the market share.
To acquire this service, a new customer will need to pay Rs 1,490, which includes both installation charges and five months of usage.
Meanwhile, Jio’s competitor Bharti Airtel has recently modified its pre-paid and postpaid mobile phone tariffs to attract high ARPU (average revenue per user) generating customers.
While the entry-level price has been raised in the pre-paid segment, postpaid plans are now bundled with features like high amounts of data and unlimited 5G data use.
