Jio, Airtel may soon hike Tarrif Plans in India

Mobile Recharge Plans can be expensive in the coming times. Users may have to pay a higher price for this in the coming years.

According to a report, investment banking firm Jefferies has said that telecom companies in India will increase tariffs by up to 10 percent by March 2023.

According to the report, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio may increase the tariff in the last quarter of the financial year 2023, 2024, and 2025.

During this, companies will increase by 10 percent. The reason for this is the increased revenue and margin pressure on telecom companies.

This has been said in the report of Business Insider. Margins of companies and marginal benefits in average revenue per user (ARPU) are the reason for this increase.

Jio’s ARPU reportedly grew by 0.8 percent in the quarter that ended in September.

In contrast, Vodafone Idea and Airtel gained 1 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

Change in Airtel Recharge Plan

Airtel has started implementing the price hike by discontinuing the Rs 99 plan.

Under this recharge plan, the company offered 200MB of data and calls at 2.5 paise per second.

Last month, the company re-introduced the Rs 99 priced at Rs, a hike of around 57 percent. The new plan now comes for Rs 155.

With this, unlimited calling, 1GB of data, Wynk Music access, and 300 SMS are available for 24 days. This pack is available in certain circles.

Reliance Jio’s customers increased

According to the latest TRAI data, Jio added 7,20,000 wireless customers during September. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel achieved an increase of 4,12,000 mobile users.

In contrast, Vodafone Idea is facing a decline of 40,00,000 in the number of customers.

Its base has come down to 24.91 crores. Airtel and Jio are currently leading the 5G deployment in the country.
