Continuing this trend, IRCTC is soon going to bring a new feature. This feature will allow you to book your ticket with the help of voice only.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the tourism and ticketing arm of the Indian Railways, is soon developing a new feature to make reserved ticket booking easier and quicker.
It is a voice-based e-ticketing facility.
ASK DISHA – Voice-based e-ticketing facility
It is learned that IRCTC is currently undergoing the testing phase of its AI (Artificial Intelligence) platform named ‘ASK DISHA’ (Digital Interaction to Seek Help Anytime).
ASK DISHA will allow customers to give voice commands and follow the ticketing process.
There will be many changes soon
It is reported that the first phase of the trial was successful, and more steps will be taken soon. IRCTC may launch AI-powered ASK DISHA in the next three months.
With an AI-powered e-ticketing facility, IRCTC may enhance backend infrastructure to boost daily online ticketing capacity.
Who developed
Ask DISHA was introduced in October 2018 by IRCTC in collaboration with Bengaluru-based startup CoRover Pvt Ltd.
Currently, Ask DISHA allows customers to book tickets and get support for other services with an OTP verification login. Users must not log in using their IRCTC user ID and password.
What is unique about Ask DISHA 2.0
Passengers can book tickets with the help of IRCTC’s chatbot Ask DISHA 2.0. For this, customers can use text or voice commands.
The customer can also cancel their ticket on Ask DISHA 2.0 and check the refund status of the canceled ticket.
Along with this, you can also check your PNR status. You can also change boarding and destination stations for your train journey.
Also, you can preview, print and share train tickets for your trip.
Can ask questions in Hindi and English
You can also ask questions on IRCTC’s chatbot Ask Disha 2.0 in English and Hindi.
‘Ask Disha,’ a program designed by IRCTC to answer your queries, is available on the official website of IRCTC – irctc.co.in.
