Ahead of the assembly elections, the state government has taken significant measures to win the hearts of the public.
As part of their efforts,
Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme is introduced to ensure that gas cylinders are available to the people of the state at a subsidized rate of Rs. 500.
To participate in this scheme, consumers must complete the registration process.
Since its implementation on April 1st, the government has successfully disbursed the subsidy amount to around 14 lakh consumers, benefiting millions of families.
Guaranteed Subsidies and Affordable Cylinders
Under the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, the Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, has facilitated a transfer of Rs. 60 crore to the bank accounts of 14 lakh consumers.
This scheme allows individuals to purchase a total of 12 cylinders per year at the subsidized price of Rs. 500.
Any additional cylinders required beyond this quota must be purchased at the regular market price.
The subsidy amount has been provided to those who availed of cylinders during the months of April and May.
Streamlined Subsidy Process for Consumer Convenience
To benefit from the scheme, consumers are required to purchase cylinders at the market rate, which may be Rs. 1103, for instance.
The consumer must pay the full market price upfront, and subsequently, the state government will reimburse the amount exceeding Rs. 500.
In this example, the government would provide a subsidy of Rs. 603 from the total cost of Rs. 1103,
thereby ensuring affordability and relief from inflation for the consumers.
Helpline Assistance for Unresolved Subsidy Issues
If the subsidy amount does not reflect in the bank account linked to Jan Aadhaar within a month, consumers are advised to call the helpline number 181 for assistance. This helpline serves as a reliable resource for individuals who have concerns or queries regarding their subsidy status.
Empowering Women: Free Smartphones Distribution
In an additional initiative to empower women, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced that free smartphones will soon be provided to women in Rajasthan.
These smartphones will be distributed in batches of 40 lakh each, aimed at enhancing digital connectivity and accessibility for women.
Although there may be a slight delay in the distribution due to chip availability, the government is committed to providing the smartphones in the near future.
