Indigo to hike Salary of it’s Cabin Crew and Pilots from October 1

During the holiday season, the biggest airline in our country, Indigo, raised the pay for its airplane drivers and the people who work inside the plane.

This higher pay will start on October 1, 2023. They increased the employees’ salaries by about 10 percent on average, but the exact amount is different for each person.

According to a report from ET, IndiGo raised the pay for cabin crew by about 10 percent on average.

The company now guarantees a fixed salary for 70 hours of work for pilots, ensuring they get a minimum wage for those hours.

Any extra hours worked by pilots will be paid as overtime. In comparison, IndiGo’s competitors, Akasa and Air India, provide fixed pay for 40 hours to their pilots.

IndiGo gave more money to its workers when lots of people are leaving jobs at airlines.

Keeping experienced captains and trainers is hard for airlines.

Lately, many airlines are ordering new planes, but pilots from one airline are going to work for another airline.

Not long ago, Akasa went to court about 43 pilots because they didn’t finish a six-month waiting time.

Airlines had to give more money to their workers two times in a month. In April, Air India raised salaries by 20 percent.

IndiGo has chosen to give more money to 4,500 flight crew members.

They also said they’d give a bonus of 3 percent of the salary to their crew after they shared the results from January to March.

In the first part of 2023-24, the company made a record profit of Rs 3090 crore, which is the most ever for the airline.

The company has more than 60 percent of the domestic aviation market.
