In anticipation of the large crowds expected during the Ganesh festival, Indian Railways has taken proactive measures to ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers traveling to and from the city.
To facilitate hassle-free journeys, more than 250 special trains will be operated from Mumbai.
Central Railway has also announced 18 non-reserved trains to cater to the needs of passengers during this festive period.
Initially, Mumbai Division had planned to run 208 special trains for the Ganpati Mahatsav in September, but this number has now been increased to 266 due to the high demand.
The special trains will serve various states, connecting them to Mumbai. Most of these trains will cover major railway stations in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and neighboring states.
Western Railway is also stepping up its efforts by arranging 40 special trains to run from September 14 to October 1 for the Ganpati festival.
In addition, Western Railway will operate six weekly Ganpati special trains between Udhna and Madgaon, facilitating travel between September 15 and September 29.
The trains will run on Fridays from Udhna and every Saturday from Madgaon, providing a convenient travel option for passengers.
With these initiatives, Indian Railways aims to ensure a seamless and enjoyable journey for all passengers during the Ganesh festival celebrations.
