With Shardiya Navratri kicking off on October 15th, the festive season is upon us.
Indian Railways has some exciting news for passengers traveling during Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath.
To ensure a hassle-free journey for the high number of travelers, Indian Railways is operating special festival trains, and advance bookings are already underway.
Special Trains to Bengal for Durga Puja
Bengal holds a special place for Durga Puja celebrations, commencing on October 21st. In light of this, Indian Railways is running three special trains to Bengal:
Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri Express (Train No. 03103)
1) Operates from October 28th to November 25th.
2) Departs from Sealdah every Saturday at 11:40 am, arriving in New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 am the next day.
Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Express (Train No. 03104):
1) Runs from October 29th to November 26th.
2) Departs from New Jalpaiguri every Sunday at 12:45 pm, reaching Sealdah the next day (Monday) at 12:30 pm.
Howrah-Raxaul Express Puja Special (Train No. 03103)
1) Operating from October 21st to November 25th.
2) Departs from Sealdah every Saturday at 11:40 pm, arriving in New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 am the following day.
Special Trains from South to North India
For travelers heading from South to North India, there are two special trains:
1) Train No. 05271 Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Special Train (Every Friday)
2) Train No. 05272 Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Special Train (Every Monday)
Special Trains from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal to Patna
Three pairs of special trains will run from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal to Patna:
1) Train No. 03255 (November 23rd to December 10th): Departs from Patna at 10:20 pm on Sundays, arriving at Anand Vihar station at 03:00 pm the next day.
2) Train No. 03256 (November 24th to December 11th): Operates on Fridays and Mondays. Departs from Anand Vihar at 11:30 pm and reaches Patna at 5:20 pm the following day.
3) Train No. 03635 (November 20th to December 8th): Runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Departs from Patna at 2:15 pm, arriving at Anand Vihar Delhi at 05:00 am the next day.
Extended Timings for Some Special Trains
In anticipation of the Diwali, Dussehra, and Chhath festival rush, Indian Railways has extended the timings for certain special trains:
1) The timing of Tirupati-Sainagar Shirdi train (Train No. 07637) has been extended from October 15th to November 26th.
2) The timing of Sainagar Shirdi-Tirupati train (Train No. 07638) has been extended from October 16th to November 27th.
3) The timing of Kazipet-Dadar train (Train No. 07195) has been extended from October 14th to November 29th.
